Made in the early 1900s piece from Turin in Italy clearly shows the fashion for all things Oriental which periodically raged through Europe. The gilded stand on cabriole legs has extensive scrollwork connecting the legs.

This mid to late 1800s nutwood mirror clearly shows influences of the style that would become known as Art Nouveau. Note the way how curves playfully fold back amonst themselves. The two brackets whilst functional also add charm to the whole piece.
